IPTV on LG Smart TVs (webOS): Players and Setup

IPTV on LG Smart TVs running webOS: how the LG Content Store limits player choice, setup steps, and what is known about IPTV4K.CA on LG.

Published · Updated · Last checked

Short answer: LG Smart TVs run webOS and the LG Content Store, so Android apps such as TiviMate cannot be installed. A few IPTV player apps exist for webOS, and availability depends on your TV’s model year, webOS version and region. IPTV4K.CA lists LG as supported; we have not tested it on an LG TV.

How IPTV works on LG Smart TVs

LG TVs use webOS, which is not Android, and apps are installed from the LG Content Store. IPTV players offered there are usually playlist players that play the M3U link or login your provider supplies. As with other smart-TV systems, older model years can lose access to newer apps.

Example IPTV players for LG Smart TVs

These are examples of the kinds of apps people use, not recommendations or endorsements, and IPTV Review has no connection with any of them. Names, availability and features change, so check the official store listing for your exact device and region before installing. Most IPTV players contain no channels of their own: they only play what your provider supplies.

  • SS IPTV (Simple Smart IPTV): Often mentioned for LG and Samsung TVs. Guides describe a free playlist player configured through a website, but most guides are written by IPTV sellers, so verify in the LG Content Store.
  • Other playlist players in the LG Content Store: Search the store for IPTV or M3U players available for your TV. Names and availability change.

What you need

  • An LG Smart TV recent enough to run the player
  • An IPTV player app from the LG Content Store
  • Login details from your provider

Setting up IPTV on LG Smart TVs

  1. Check your model and software version, and that the player you want is offered in the device’s official store.
  2. Install the player from that official store.
  3. Get your login details from your provider. Providers usually supply either an Xtream-style login (server address, username and password) or an M3U playlist link, sometimes with a separate programme-guide address. Check which one yours gives you, because not every player supports every format.
  4. Add the details in the player. Long web addresses are quicker to paste or type on a phone or computer, and some players let you add a playlist from another device.
  5. Wait for the channel list and guide to load, then test several channels, the guide and the sports you follow, at the hours you normally watch.
  6. If you are using a free trial, test everything inside the trial window before you pay.
  • Some players ask you to note a code shown in the app and register your playlist on their website. Use only the app’s official site.
  • If no suitable player is offered for your TV, an external streaming device on an HDMI port is the common alternative.

IPTV4K.CA on LG Smart TVs: what we know

  • Does IPTV4K.CA say it supports LG? Yes. LG is one of the twelve device families on IPTV4K.CA’s homepage (provider claim, checked 6 October 2026).
  • Have we tested it on this device? Not tested. Our only hands-on test (14 October 2026) used a Fire TV Stick and an iPhone app, so nothing here has been verified for this device.
  • Players it names: On its free trial page, IPTV4K.CA names IPTV Smarters and TiviMate as compatible players, “and other supported IPTV apps” (provider claim, checked 6 October 2026).
  • What the provider told our tester: According to our tester, IPTV4K.CA said by chat on 14 October 2026 that its subscription works with any player that accepts Xtream Codes or M3U links, and with MAG devices (a provider statement; we hold no copy of it yet and have not verified it).
  • What this means for you: TiviMate is Android-only and cannot be installed on webOS. If you use IPTV4K.CA on an LG TV, ask which webOS player and playlist format it supports, or plan to use an external device.

That is narrower than “every player”: a player has to support one of those formats, and not every app does on every device. We cannot verify the provider’s statement, so ask which player it recommends for your exact device, and use the 24-hour free trial to test it before paying. What to check before choosing a provider

  • Your TV’s model year and webOS version
  • The region of your LG Content Store
  • Whether the provider names your exact device, and which player and playlist format it expects
  • Whether it offers a free trial, so you can test on your own setup before paying
  • The refund and cancellation terms, in writing
