IPTV on Chromecast: Casting vs Google TV
IPTV on Chromecast depends on the model: older ones receive a cast, Chromecast with Google TV runs apps. Players, setup and IPTV4K.CA status.

Short answer: Chromecast comes in two kinds. Older models only receive video cast from another device, while Chromecast with Google TV runs apps itself like an Android TV device. IPTV4K.CA lists Chromecast as supported; we have not tested it on a Chromecast.
How IPTV works on Chromecast
With a cast-only model, you open an IPTV app on your phone, tablet or computer and send playback to the TV. The sending device must be on the same network, and the app must support casting. A Chromecast with Google TV works differently: you install players from Google Play and use the TV remote, as on other Android TV devices.
Example IPTV players for Chromecast
These are examples of the kinds of apps people use, not recommendations or endorsements, and IPTV Review has no connection with any of them. Names, availability and features change, so check the official store listing for your exact device and region before installing. Most IPTV players contain no channels of their own: they only play what your provider supplies.
- TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro (Chromecast with Google TV): These Android TV players can run directly on a Google TV model.
- VLC and other players with a cast option (cast-only models): Some players, including VLC for Android, can send playback to a Chromecast. Check that your player offers casting.
What you need
- Either a Chromecast with Google TV, or a cast-only Chromecast plus a phone, tablet or computer on the same network
- A player app that suits your model
- Login details from your provider
Setting up IPTV on Chromecast
- Check your model and software version, and that the player you want is offered in the device’s official store.
- Install the player from that official store.
- Get your login details from your provider. Providers usually supply either an Xtream-style login (server address, username and password) or an M3U playlist link, sometimes with a separate programme-guide address. Check which one yours gives you, because not every player supports every format.
- Add the details in the player. Long web addresses are quicker to paste or type on a phone or computer, and some players let you add a playlist from another device.
- Wait for the channel list and guide to load, then test several channels, the guide and the sports you follow, at the hours you normally watch.
- If you are using a free trial, test everything inside the trial window before you pay.
- Casting depends on your phone staying connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Check which Chromecast model you own before choosing a player.
IPTV4K.CA on Chromecast: what we know
- Does IPTV4K.CA say it supports Chromecast? Yes. Chromecast is one of the twelve device families on IPTV4K.CA’s homepage (provider claim, checked 6 October 2026).
- Have we tested it on this device? Not tested. Our only hands-on test (14 October 2026) used a Fire TV Stick and an iPhone app, so nothing here has been verified for this device.
- Players it names: On its free trial page, IPTV4K.CA names IPTV Smarters and TiviMate as compatible players, “and other supported IPTV apps” (provider claim, checked 6 October 2026).
- What the provider told our tester: According to our tester, IPTV4K.CA said by chat on 14 October 2026 that its subscription works with any player that accepts Xtream Codes or M3U links, and with MAG devices (a provider statement; we hold no copy of it yet and have not verified it).
- What this means for you: Ask IPTV4K.CA whether it supports casting from its recommended app or only the Google TV version, and test the setup you plan to use during the free trial.
That is narrower than “every player”: a player has to support one of those formats, and not every app does on every device. We cannot verify the provider’s statement, so ask which player it recommends for your exact device, and use the 24-hour free trial to test it before paying. What to check before choosing a provider
- Whether your Chromecast is cast-only or runs Google TV
- Whether the app you want supports casting
- Whether the provider names your exact device, and which player and playlist format it expects
- Whether it offers a free trial, so you can test on your own setup before paying
- The refund and cancellation terms, in writing
